David & Marcy Sing and Speak at Ranch Hope Retreat
The Lord blessed our time with Dave & Eileen Bailey at the Ranch Hope Retreat in Leola, PA 3/3-3/5. What a great time. And what a wonderful reunion. We got to see friends from the past and made new ones for the future. Dot Worth shared her testimony on Friday, night. It was warm and honest and touched many hearts. Hearts opened further as Marcy shared in song.
People responded throughout the weekend in both laughter and tears. We had great fun, but also powerful ministry.
A woman came up following David's last main speaking session on Saturday morning. She talked with him briefly about how clear the Father's love seemed from the words shared. She then gave her heart to Jesus in a most simple and sincere moment. What a joy to share in our Father's concerns as he calls his family out from among the lost. May we always have the opportunity to share his love in little places and big all throughout our land in these day.
Marcy doing well. Her immune system is stronger. And her blood work looks good. We are standing together in obedience to the Lord and enjoying trusting him for healing and fulfillment of his promises to us.
We are also enjoying the generous gift of New Life Fellowship--a sabbatical and extended leave of six months. So we are resting, writing, drawing close to the wells of refreshment in Christ, and visiting some of our friends, family, and ministry supporters over the years.
Thank you for all your prayers and emails. Thanks for the calls to check up on us too. We appreciate every act of kindness and love that comes our way. Please ask the Lord to cause us to finish stronger than we started.
NEWEST BOOKLET: "Rumspringa: Sacrificing Your Children"
This is an
excellent challenge to rumspringa--the practice of "running around." I
wrote this as an outreach resource to place into the hands of Amish
parents and leaders. This practice destroys families and it MUST STOP!.
Churches, organizations, and individuals who care about the Amish and
love them as neighbors and friends, can use this effectively by handing
them out wherever the Lord gives an opportunity.
Recently on 20/20, a special aired about the practice of Rumspringa among the Amish youth. Rumspringa is
PA German for "running around"--romping. Teens aged 16-19 leave their
homes for a romp in the Devil's territory This booklet appeals directly, encouraging them to ask the right questions during their rumspringa. I believe that through it they can dispel the confusion, anger, and depression that usually accompanies this season of their young lives. This is an excellent outreach resource to place into the hands of any Amish young people between the ages of 14 and 19.
