Mission Field Training

David and Marcy have a heart and calling for multiplying leaders. Missions training, teaching, and coaching is at the center of their International ministry. They have had international students live with them and God has used them on the fields below to equip pastors, cell leaders, and ministry couples.

Some of the Seminars and modules include:

  • A Personal Relationship with the Father—To Know [Yada] Him and To Make Him Known is the purpose of the church.
  • Ears to Hear—what the Spirit is saying to the churches
  • A Heart to Obey—Jesus said that the test of Love is "to obey."
  • Authority to Bless--What is the nature of God's worldwide authority?
  • A Home that's in Order--Home Management, an essential qualification for ministry
  • The Ministry of Jesus—Truth and Power Encounter Darkness.
  • The Shape of the Body—How has God designed the church to Look?
  • Ministry in the 21st Century—What the Church should be doing in all cultures?

MISSIONS NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

David & Marcy Returned from Brazil with Good News
.

Marcy and I traveled to Brazil on Tuesday, April 17. This was our third short-term mission in the past 14 years. We had anticipated that this mission would be the first in a series of future missions to partner with the churches associated with Betu. We were used of the Lord to encourage Pastor Betu and Val and the churches under their care. We have posted a follow-up letter from Betu at the end of this report. It is much better to hear in his own words, the value of our visit.

We have seen what the Lord is doing there and shared ourselves in seeing Brazilians come to know God and to Make Him Known. This mission accomplished the following goals we had set:

Strengthened Relationships for Future Missions

Betu & Val - see his letter

Betu’s mother and father. They have served in Pastoral ministry for 50 or 60 years. Betu’s father continues to serve the Lord filling the pulpit where needed, though he receives no income or pension from the previous churches. We carried a combined love-gift to them from New Life and our personal savings. When I gave it to Betu's dad and mom, he was speechless but their tears said everything. They praised and thanked the Lord for the goodness and generosity shown them by the Lord in their old age.

     ACGC Connections
– Tim Fox and the IMAC asked me to explore the possibilities of Betu and the churches he has planted coming into association with the Advent Christian General Conference. This would give Betu a relationship with a larger group of churches worldwide who could come alongside to encourage and assist him. We carried books for the pastors from Tim and the General Conference will be providing study bibles for the churches. Betu has agreed to form the first Advent Christian Conference of Brazil with several trusted, godly men to serve on that board. He has further invited Scott Dombrosky and Tim Fox to meet with him or he with them when he visits the states this year to see Rob, Dani, and the grandchildren. These talks have resulted in the future affiliation of the new churches in Brazil to our growing list of international partner-churches.

New Life & Frontline Short-term Missions
– On this trip, we had hoped to lay a foundation for future missions between New Life, Frontline, and the churches in Brazil. We wanted to see how our folks can exchange ministry between Brazil and Concord. Betu felt that next July, 2008, we could be very helpful to the church in Rola, by helping them on a building project and possibly working with the children (an English camp, or VBS).

The New Churches – With our translator, Carolina, I spoke and Marcy sang in two established churches and in two of the three new church plants.  We met with the people in homes, casted vision, and encouraged them. They prayed for many and shared words of knowledge with several. We were delighted with several unplanned meetings that the Lord opened for us through unusual circumstances.

Previously Visited Churches – We wanted to serve in some of the churches we had been in before, but time did not permit. All of the churches where we ministered were new to us. We had two or three invitations while in Brazil, but our schedule did not allow for us to go. Arrangements were made for us to return to the churches we visited and to go to the new ones when we return next year.

We had a lot to accomplish in only ten days, but we tried to be sensitive to God’s divine appointments. We saw future possibilities, strengthened existing relationships, and laid new foundations for future ministry exchanges between our churches. Ultimately, we want to explore a united effort to reach Mozambique or other Portuguese speaking nations for Christ. This is on the agenda for our next visit during Project Brazil 2008.

Thank you for your prayers and/or support that made this significant ministry trip possible.

Money - Though we were good stewards, not all the money we spent for the trip came in. We still would like to offset our expenses. We are trusting that if you have not had an opportunity to share in this ministry, you might give a generous gift at this time. Our need is approximately $1,100. We are trusting God to bring this in his time.

Below you can give a secure, tax-deductible gift by means of your credit card. OR you can write a check to "Frontline Ministries" and send it to the address on our "Contact Us" page. Please note that your gift is for the "Brazil Mission"

Thank you for partnering with us to fulfill God's purposes in this important ministry.

As we serve people in the small places around the world, we welcome your Tax-deductable contributions to this Ministry. We have needs in the following areas:

  • Brazil Mission (April 17-28, 2007 - still needed $1,100.)
  • Republic of Geogia Mission (Oct 2007)
  • travel expenses
  • equipment
  • teaching materials
  • daily expenses on the mission field so as not to be a burden to inviting churches
  • supplies [e.g. small amounts of needed medicines, vitamins, clothing, etc]

Remember, we serve Christ and the churches as a non-profit ministry, taking nothing from undiscipled.

 To New Life Fellowship

I have been trying and giving my best to preach to our brothers and sisters in Brazil
the genuine Word of God. And that has been a very difficult task because the Gospel here in my country, which was already filled with human doctrines and religiousness, received the influence of other wrong concepts such as personal prosperity, denominational profit, growth in numbers and political success. As a consequence, the local Gospel has become a big company business.

The fear of God, the love for your neighbor are samples of things almost forgotten in the leader’s speeches nowadays and that increases the number of frustrated, hurt members each day. These are people who will not believe there can be comfort, love, encouragement and examples to be followed any longer. However, from April 18th to 27th we were gifted from God, who heard our prayers and supplied us with the gifts we needed. The arrival of Pastor David and sister Marcy in Brasil was God’s way of fulfilling and meeting our needs. Now we all feel strengthened.

The brothers and sisters in Jesus in Rola Fellowship knew your leaders and some of the members from your church by photos and even prayed for you, who had helped them buy a place for celebrations without having met you. Nevertheless, on those blessed days, they could see the ‘invisible’ and touch the ‘future’. They could then see what was only a dream.

Although the Fellowship in Portogalo has more privileged material conditions, they were also thrilled with having the pastor and his wife in a couple of reunions. Like the others here, they lacked spiritual encouragement, due to the religious hypocrisy of the ones who do not practice the truth keep
oppressing their minds and consciousness. This small group is radiant and brave, willing to go forward after being strengthened by the love and encouragement they received from their friends of New Life Fellowship.

You should know that besides Rola and Portogalo Fellowships, New Life Fellowship is from now on known and loved by the members of an Assembly of God in Campo Grande
and The Bethel Baptist Church in Muriqui whose pastor sent me an email in his name and the church’s rejoicing and giving thanks.
My family and I even happier. We are all glad, because of your generosity in sending the new technology, being present spiritually and sharing with us materially as well. And for that we say: “Thank you for crossing into Macedonia
”.

About myself in particular, I was the most blessed one. I can now preach and teach with great authority, having Paul’s feeling when he said in relation to his Philippian brothers and sisters:

I have all things and more than enough: I am made full, having had from David and Marcy the things which came from you, a perfume of a sweet smell, an offering well pleasing to God. And my God will supply all you have need of from the wealth of his glory in Christ Jesus. Now to God our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Give words of love to every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their love.

--Philippians 4:18-21.

My dear and beloved brothers and sisters, everything that happened could be only possible because New Life Fellowship believed and obeyed the Word of God.

      P
lease, extend my greetings and thanks also to the board of Frontline Ministries Inc., and to the Advent Christian General Conference and all the others who contributed materially and spiritually for this mission of God.

Love,

Roberto Santos
