Pastor Betu & Val
To New Life Fellowship & Frontline Ministries:

I have been trying and giving my best to preach to our brothers and sisters in Brazil
the genuine Word of God. And that has been a very difficult task because the Gospel here in my country, which was already filled with human doctrines and religiousness, received the influence of other wrong concepts such as personal prosperity, denominational profit, growth in numbers and political success. As a consequence, the local Gospel has become a big company business.

The fear of God, the love for your neighbor are samples of things almost forgotten in the leader’s speeches nowadays and that increases the number of frustrated, hurt members each day. These are people who will not believe there can be comfort, love, encouragement and examples to be followed any longer. However, from April 18th to 27th we were gifted from God, who heard our prayers and supplied us with the gifts we needed. The arrival of Pastor David and sister Marcy in Brasil was God’s way of fulfilling and meeting our needs. Now we all feel strengthened.

The brothers and sisters in Jesus in Rola Fellowship knew your leaders and some of the members from your church by photos and even prayed for you, who had helped them buy a place for celebrations without having met you. Nevertheless, on those blessed days, they could see the ‘invisible’ and touch the ‘future’. They could then see what was only a dream.

Although the Fellowship in Portogalo has more privileged material conditions, they were also thrilled with having the pastor and his wife in a couple of reunions. Like the others here, they lacked spiritual encouragement, due to the religious hypocrisy of the ones who do not practice the truth keep
oppressing their minds and consciousness. This small group is radiant and brave, willing to go forward after being strengthened by the love and encouragement they received from their friends of New Life Fellowship.

You should know that besides Rola and Portogalo Fellowships, New Life Fellowship is from now on known and loved by the members of an Assembly of God in Campo Grande
and The Bethel Baptist Church in Muriqui whose pastor sent me an email in his name and the church’s rejoicing and giving thanks.
My family and I even happier. We are all glad, because of your generosity in sending the new technology, being present spiritually and sharing with us materially as well. And for that we say: “Thank you for crossing into Macedonia
”.

About myself in particular, I was the most blessed one. I can now preach and teach with great authority, having Paul’s feeling when he said in relation to his Philippian brothers and sisters:

I have all things and more than enough: I am made full, having had from David and Marcy the things which came from you, a perfume of a sweet smell, an offering well pleasing to God. And my God will supply all you have need of from the wealth of his glory in Christ Jesus. Now to God our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Give words of love to every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their love.

--Philippians 4:18-21.

My dear and beloved brothers and sisters, everything that happened could be only possible because New Life Fellowship believed and obeyed the Word of God.

      P
lease, extend my greetings and thanks also to the board of Frontline Ministries Inc., and to the Advent Christian General Conference and all the others who contributed materially and spiritually for this mission of God.

Love,

Roberto Santos

Lela's June  eLetter

To My Frontline Family

Hi Friends & Family,

By now I am done with the school. Actually, I am already back from a vacation. Some of you might have heard that three of my girl friends from college were willing to pay for my vacation with them in Disney World after the school year. We had a wonderful time together and I am so grateful to the Lord for that opportunity to have fun with them, especially since all of them have just graduated and I probably won’t be seeing them that often any more. I feel like God’s grace and blessings are so boundless towards us!

I have two more years left at Gordon. As I was talking to my advisor at the end of the semester about my plans for the rest of the time at Gordon, I discovered that I cannot get waived from the international experience requirement that all International Affairs majors have to fulfill, which I was hoping would happen as I’m already having international experience and already did studies abroad in the Republic of Georgia.

To make it shorter, I would either have to do one semester abroad or an internship in another country over next summer. I’ll be looking into what it takes to do either and choose the less expensive and better option. Another thing with the international experience requirement is that most likely, over next Christmas, I will need to go back to Georgia to renew my visa. It needs to be valid as I leave for my international experience and then return to the US.

With God’s help I continue to keep my scholarship. I declared history as a minor. I think it blends well with politics, which is a big part of International Affairs.

I will be working on campus this summer too. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a paid internship off campus. But I am grateful to be able to support myself over the summer and have a place to live.

THANK YOU ALL for your prayers & support. I believe, and have seen proven in my own life, that the prayer of a righteous person (all God’s children) makes a big difference.

“In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

With MUCH LOVE,

Lela
